A Question...

For those more in touch with the technical side of this blogging thing than I am -

I've recently started putting labels on my posts, what are they for, what do they do, am I typing them for any good reason at all or is just extra wear and tear to the ends of my fingers?

If someone searches you blog for Bolton, all posts whose labels include that label will be found. You can also display a list of your labels that people can click on to see all posts with that label.

Yeah, I think they're useful. As Keefie said, people interested in a particular subject we go on about can click the label to go to all our rantings on the subject.

O...K... I think... so I understand that I'm not just wearing the ends of my fingers away... but... how do I display a list of my labels? and is it worth going back through my posts to put labels on all of them?

I'm so glad you asked that question Billy, cos I also didn't know what it was about. Now I do! So now I'll have to kickstart the sludge & look through the bumph to see how to put the label thingy on! I really should go back to being blonde *sigh*

its a way to sort your posts. they're like markers for different categories for your posts.

DB: I think there's a widget for displaying your labels buried somewhere in the arse-end of Blogger. I've never used it 'cos I'm too indisciplined with my labels: if I did put it on I would have a list of hundreds of words.

Jayne, YW

Mars, Why? my posts are sorted by date, and I don't have categories, it's just drivel - that's the only category, what was the description keef used? Oh yeah, I remember - disingeuous tosh. Thats all it is.

Keef, yeah, I'm about that organised as well.
